Strategic Planning to Reach Your Apogee

Strategic planning - what is it and why is it important?

Every organization should occasionally do a reality check to verify it is still on target for achieving the goals it has set. The best organizations do this regularly and routinely, constantly asking whether their goals are still relevant or optimal given a constantly changing environment.  Sometimes, these organizations reinvent themselves, choosing a new destination or path for getting there.

They do this through strategic planning.  Successful organizations learn to master this process. They also incorporate continual re-assessment and planning into their way of doing things - their management system.

Many organizations, typically the entrepreneurially-managed ones, tend to ignore or minimize the value of strategic planning.  Often, they believe they cannot afford to devote limited management resources to learning and implementing formal planning processes into their corporate thinking and behavior.  So they continue to make decisions intuitively rather than deliberately.  Growth happens haphazardly if at all and real success remains an elusive target.

At Apogee Consultants, we empathize with the leaders and managers of entrepreneurial organizations.  We understand the challenges they face just getting through the week much less planning for the future. We know that when they hire us, we are expected not only to help them overcome the gravitational pull of their present way of thinking and behaving, but also to devise pragmatic solutions - and perhaps even implement them.

If you are in a leadership or executive management role with an entrepreneurial company or nonprofit organization and are dissatisfied with the status quo, then this site is for you. Read on and discover how Apogee may be able to help your organization break through to the next level of success through a strategic re-assessment of where you are, where you want to be and how you will get there.

After all, reaching your goals shouldn't be rocket science.
